  The World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva,Switzerland  proclaimed June 1 to be International Children's Day in1925. It is not clear as to why June 1 was chosen as the International Children's Day: one theory has it that the Chinese consul-general in San Francisco (USA) gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival in 1925, which happened to be on June 1 that year.

  1925年的時候，瑞士日內(nèi)瓦國際會議上將6月1日設(shè)為“國際兒童節(jié)”。為什么是6月1日這個日子呢?事實(shí)上并沒有一個相對準(zhǔn)確的答案。一種說法認(rèn)為：由于1925年，位于美國舊金山的中國總領(lǐng)事將一群中國孤兒召集在一起慶祝端午節(jié)，而當(dāng)天正好是6月1日。

 

  The holiday is celebrated on 1 June each year. It is usually marked with speeches on children's rights and wellbeing, children TV programs, parties, various actions involving or dedicated to children, families going out, etc.

  每年的6.1兒童節(jié)，會以發(fā)表關(guān)于兒童權(quán)利、福利的演說，播放兒童電視節(jié)目、舉辦各種派對、活動，舉家出游等方式來進(jìn)行慶祝。

 

  國際兒童日

  Universal Children's Day takes place on November 20 annually. First proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, it was established to encourage all countries to institute a day, firstly to promote mutual exchange and understanding among children and secondly to initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world's children.

  國際兒童日是每年的11月20日，1954年的聯(lián)合國大會上，這個節(jié)日的提出是為了推動所有國家都設(shè)立一個專門的日子來：首先，促進(jìn)各國兒童之間的交流和溝通;其次，通過采取行動來提升各國兒童的福利。
